Missions
 Simon Mkolo
Simon Mkolo is a pastor and a church planter like none other. Since his conversion is a jail cell in Zimbabwe more than 30 years ago, Simon has planted more than 400 churches! There are thousands of people in Zimbabwe who consider him to be their spiritual father, and Antioch is blessed to be a small part of what God is doing through this man of God.

Learn to Earn Ministries (http://www.learntoearn.org.za/ )
Learn to Earn is a ministry in South Africa whose motto is "a hand up, not a hand out." Led by Roche van Wyk, LTE offers job training to those who desire it in the slums of Khayelitsha, Hermanus and Durbanville. Their vision statement reads, in part: "Our vision is to see the injustices committed in the past, in South Africa, as well as in the rest of Africa, reversed. Through providing a program that recognizes human dignity and the human right to live a meaningful life, we aim to assist individuals to regain their self respect. We do this by empowering them to provide for themselves and for their families." While training people in computer skills, auto mechanics, sewing, and more, Learn to Earn also shares the gospel of Jesus Christ. Many have given their hearts to the Lord and are now gainfully employed and hiring others! We are thankful for this vital ministry that we can stand beside with our prayers and support.

 Larry Warren And Family
(africanleadership.org )

Larry Warren is President of African Leadership, and a former member of Antioch Church. Larry and Mary (along with Eddy, Paul, Josh and Johnny) have lived in South Africa and Kenya, and now reside in Nashville, TN. African Leadership primarily does pastor training: over 30,000 pastors in Africa have been through the BTCP program, Bible Training Center for Pastors. African Leadership is also involved in emergency relief, orphanages, famine relief, sports ministries, and much more. We at Antioch count it a privilege to partner with Larry and all the men and women who are part of the African Leadership ministry.

Mark & Marcie HarrisHarris

Mark & Marcie Harris are serving among the Malinke of Mali. They chose Mali after spending a week in Kayes in October of 2002. While there, they saw what God is doing and began to sense how they might fit into His work among the Malinke. Spread over an area larger than Pennsylvania, 16 small Malinke congregations meet each week for worship. The pastors have little training, and the church is ill-equipped to spread the gospel. These congregations, however, have tremendous potential as a source of laborers for a vast harvest field.

Mark and Marcie  want to come alongside them to help equip leaders and to mobilize Malinke church planters. They desire to help ignite the flame that will allow the Malinke church to spread the light of Christ throughout West Africa.

The Rice Family

Craig and Shelley Rice serve the Lord with Latin American Missions in Costa Rica. Here is an excerpt from their mission statement: The focus of Craig’s ministry with the Evangelism In-Depth (called IINDEF) Evangelism and Pastoral Care team is to empower people and change lives by promoting ministry in and from Latin America by mentoring missionaries and pastors, and by literature distribution.  This includes planning team goals and activities; participating in activities of the entire IINDEF team; distributing IINDEF literature; and working with the Latina coalition in the planning of the next Latina conference.  The focus of Shelley’s ministry with the Rahab Foundation is to encourage and empower the Rahab staff in fulfilling their vision to reach families involved with commercial sexual exploitation of minors and prostitution and provide new skills so that these people become productive members of society through the transforming gospel of Jesus Christ.  We are also involved with a year-old Spanish-speaking church, Comunidad Cristiana de Amor, and with an international English-speaking congregation, Escazú Christian Fellowship.

Other Missions We Support:

1. Cross Road Medical Mission in Glenallen, Alaska has a nurse working there by the name of Davanea Bush, who was a part of Antioch Church for a while. We are pleased to be able to support Davanea monthly and to pray for her work. Here is a recent list of prayer requests from Davanea:

  • Please pray for our search for a dedicated  doctor, 7 nurses, a lab technician and a Chief Financial Officer that wish to serve the Lord by serving the people in the Copper River valley.
  • We currently have one provider; please pray for Mel and her family as she carries the whole load.
  • We have a Nurse Practitioner who is making arrangements to move up here with his family.  He is hoping to start working in the clinic the beginning of July.

2. Sherry Morris leads “Heart’s Cry,” a Crisis Pregnancy center in downtown Burlington. This ministry   is literally saving lives and we are proud to stand with Sherry as she fights for the unborn.

3. Allied Churches provides a hot meal and a place to sleep for the homeless in our community. Antioch partners with other churches in the area to fund this important work of mercy and hospitality.

4. Positive Attitude Youth Center is led by Pastor Kerry and Eunice Richmond. They provide a place where kids can come after school and find a tutor, a friendly face, a word of encouragement, and the gospel! PAYC is doing a good work, and we stand with them.

5. Campus Outreach at Elon University is a ministry of evangelism and discipleship. Is there anything more needed on the college campuses in America? We are grateful for Campus Outreach and the difference they make for Christ.
